I’ll text you in the morning and tell you to have a good day. Letting you know when I’m out and when I get home so you won’t have to worry. I’ll never expect you to pay or to spend every moment with me. I’ll be the one pushing you to spend time with your boys, just call me when you’re home so I don’t worry. I won’t get mad when you drink or smoke, as long as you stay on top of your priorities. I don’t expect you to go shopping with me or even spend time with my friends, but at least make an effort to get to know them. I’ll let you have your space, and you let me have mine. We can go on adventures together or we can just sit at home and do absolutely nothing. As long as we’re in each other’s presence it doesn’t matter.

I’ll listen to every problem you have and won’t judge you or think any less of you as a man. I know you have your pride. I’m not saying I have the answers to everything but I’ll make sure you don’t face them alone. I’ll be right by your side when you need me most and when you don’t need me at all. I’ll stand up for you when people are talking shit. Even when people are calling you a jerk after we’ve had a fight. I’ll still stand up for you because I know the fight won’t be completely your fault and because I know you aren’t a jerk. Fuck playing the innocent card because I’m a girl. I won’t nag you to spend time with me or to always talk to me. Just text or call me at least once a day so I know you’re okay. 

All I’m asking in return is for you to not give up on us when things get rough.

That’s my definition of a good girlfriend.
